Last Saturday was the first Dorset button in public day. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, with beautiful sunshine the whole day. Several of us dressed up in our finest 18th Century clobber. We spent a very happy day teaching button making, and chatting about their history and uses. Roll on next year!
Thanks to Loomin Marvolous for taking the photos!
The apron I’m wearing was made by my Gran and is a wonderful example of Dorset Feather Stitch. More on this another day.
